Roadmap

Although Asido is considered in alpha stage, the API is pretty firm and it is not likely to be altered. The future improvements are generally in supporting more enviroments and producing more drivers. Additionally we might consider adding new features, but it is very unlikely to change the way the already existing features work:

Here’s the roadmap of future Asido features and improvements:

  • Version 0.0.0.2
    • Environment detection script: a simple scripts that tests your environment to determine which drivers you can use
  • Version 0.0.1.0
    • Error suppression: the so-called „omerta“ feature which will supress the error warnings and notices triggered by E_STRICT
  • Version 0.0.2.0
  • Version 0.0.3.0
  • Version 0.0.4.0
  • Version 0.0.5.0
    • Unit tests for the core class and all the available drivers: compose testing cases using both SimpleTest (http://simpletest.org/) and PHPUnit (http://www.phpunit.de/) to inspect the features of both the core class and the API, aswell as each driver implementation
  • Version 0.1.0.0
    • First fully-featured release: a release that will have drivers for all the available (so far) environments
  • Version 0.1.0.1
    • Native drivers: a family of drivers (in the manner of the „hack“ drivers), which will utilize all the advanced features of the selected envoronment – like using the tiling image functionality instead of tiling the images with Asido API
